I am very disappointed to say that the collection in Leeds rail station was rejected from the train station due to lack of availability. Therefore I am going to try my best to secure a slot for as early in the new year as possible.
However on a more positive note one of Compassion Calderdale's members will be having a tombola and dress down for work day this week! I look forward to hearing how Cathryn gets along!
If anyone hears of any fundraising opportunities for the new year please let me know and I will follow them up a.s.a.p.

Thanks!
Hayley

At home on the (free) range

This solitary cow looked in superb condition on Soil Hill, Halifax this morning. She had splendid views over towards Ogden L.N.R. and the wind farm at Fly Flatts reservoir.

The Halifax Scientific Society enjoyed an extremely good and well presented lecture last Tuesday 19th July.

Hayley's slides were easily understood and the points came across very well. There are alternatives to intensive farming. Clearly we must eat far less meat, what we do eat should be good quality and from local animal friendly farms, and it is a healthier option. This will take time to achieve but if just a small percentage of us vote with our wallets and only buy best quality less often then changes will happen.
