The Halifax Scientific Society enjoyed an extremely good and well presented lecture last Tuesday 19th July.

Hayley's slides were easily understood and the points came across very well. There are alternatives to intensive farming. Clearly we must eat far less meat, what we do eat should be good quality and from local animal friendly farms, and it is a healthier option. This will take time to achieve but if just a small percentage of us vote with our wallets and only buy best quality less often then changes will happen.

I pay the extra 10 - 20p per litre for organic milk happily when I think of the birds remaining on the organic fields.

Is it worth doing without the glorious song of the skylark for the sake of slightly cheaper dodgy milk?
